Project's Objectives

  • To provide youth living on the street with not only sustainable and marketable skills, but a learning environment that promotes inclusivity and experience in necessary life skills - both employable skills as well as relational skills
  • To create avenues for open conversations between parents/caregivers and adolescents around topics such as menstruation, risky sexual behavior, and threats to health
  • To demystify the deep-rooted taboos and myths around menstruation and provide correct information on proper menstruation hygiene management
  • To introduce the developmental life stages and link adolescent body changes and behavior to individuals, the community, society dynamics, child marriage, and economic development
  • To promote the importance of good health, food security, and stable economic status through provision of psychosocial support, agricultural trainings,  and financial management.

Adolescent Girls; Menstrual Hygiene Workshop


Project's Objectives

  • To  set girls up for a life where menstruation is no longer an obstacle
  • To not only learn how to make their own reusable sanitary pads, but learn how to maintain proper hygiene throughout their cycle
  • To make reusable sanitary pads out of materials they have access to, providing

Project's Objectives

  • To  set girls up for a life where menstruation is no longer an obstacle
  • To not only learn how to make their own reusable sanitary pads, but learn how to maintain proper hygiene throughout their cycle
  • To make reusable sanitary pads out of materials they have access to, providing skills they can put to use for the rest of their lives
  • To understand the importance of menstrual hygiene and the benefits of using sanitary pads
  • To educate girls (and boys) on the changes girls are experiencing within their bodies and understand what they are experiencing is completely normal. 
  • To shift a culture of shame to one of confidence around menstruation 
  • To reduce the school dropout rate of girls, allowing girls to complete their education and open more doors of opportunity for their futures.

  • To build life-skills and active participation in the development and decision-making processes through workshops and training
  • To increase awareness on the acceptable health standards among vulnerable young people and protect themselves from opportunistic infections
  • To sustain their own basic needs through self-employment skills and domestic skills training
